Amari and Topaz

Years before she met her future husband, Castian on Mercury, Amari fell in love with Rini's oldest maternal half-brother, Topaz(going by Toshi Tsukino). There was a lot that they could relate to and it was he who helped get her through the losses during her fight with Queen Metalia. His ultimate sacrifice to save his sister, Pearl, from her own dark path costs him both his life and a potential future with Amari. After the war with Lord Onyx ended and feeling the loss of the first man that warmed her heart, Amari returned to Mercury and hid away from her family for 8 years in a isolated lagoon in her mermaid form. A woman with pale lavender hair, warm brown eyes and wearing a light green dress faced him. She is Ananke, the chosen ambassador to Sailor Cauldron and Guardian Cosmos to lead the souls into the afterlife.

"You can't cross over." Ananke said.

"I know." Topaz said. "I worked so hard to help Pearl move on and be a good ruler to Nemesis. One loose end tied up. My other one was getting to know and spend time with my half-sisters, my mother and my cousins' family. This one is my final loose end, Amari has given into her grief."

"You must help Amari move on." Ananke said. "Otherwise you will be bounded here for eternity."

Being unable to cross over, Topaz entered her mind and pleaded with her to move on. Each time, it was met with the same response as Amari wished for him to come back. Topaz tells her could not for he sacrificed himself to save Pearl from a path of darkness that his father walked on once. It was not until he saw Castian break through the lonely shell, Topaz began to hope he can help Amari move on. As she became more hopeful, she sees his ghost form. Amari tells Topaz of her intentions of returning home to her family and marry Castian. However, she is unsure if she should and reveals that a part of her still loves him. Topaz encourages Amari to go ahead since the last thing he wants is for her to be lonely and miserable. He wants her to live along and happy life with Castian.

After returning home with Castian, Amari went into her room to sort out her stuff. One of such is a photo Madrina took of her first date with Topaz at an amusement park. Seeing the photo made Amari depressed, when she was back on Earth with him. Castian's patience and caring nature in comforting her helped Amari finally move on from Topaz's death. Finally able let go, Topaz watches her one last time before moving on in the afterlife.

"I will always love you my sweet Mari." Topaz said. "But we were not meant to be."

"Are you ready to move on?" Ananke said.

"Yes." Topaz said, feeling relieved and happy.

He faded away in a light filled with diamonds and a peaceful rest.
