Description
My colors for Makoto/Queen Himalia and Nephrite/King Raiden. This is in the NSG colors. I'm going by the 90s anime as well as the manga and Crystal versions.
In the Past: Not much is known about Nephrite's past life except he was one of Endymion's closest friends and guardian. He found his way to Makoto's heart when she was known in the past as Princess Himalia. When Beryl and Metalia took over Earth for the newly form Dark Kingdom, like his friends, Jadeite, Zoicite and Kunzite, he was also brainwashed to attack the Moon Kingdom in the past Silver Millennium.
20th Century Earth: With no recollection of his past life, Nephrite is loyal to Beryl and under her orders, he attacked Sailor Moon after the failures of Jaedite. However, after his and the Shittenou's defeat, they tuned back into their precious stones. Before dying Nephrite remembered he had loved Makoto at one point
In the first anime, to avoid causing suspicion, Nephrite disguised himself as a wealthy socialite and businessman named Masato Sanjouin(Maxwell Stanford in the English Dub). However, he soon found himself in competition with the jealous and annoying Zoicite whom seemed bent to sabotage him. Nephrite found himself unwittingly getting involved with Naru Osaka(Molly in the English dub) and tried to use her to find out Sailor Moon's identity(which he succeeds via overhearing her conversation). He lured Sailor Moon to a trap with intentions to finish her off until Tuxedo Mask intervened. Zoicite learned that Nephrite is in love with her and decided it was time he got rid of his rival. Using his three most powerful monsters, the Plant sisters(Housenka: yellow, Suzuran: blue and Grape: purple), Zoicite kidnapped Naru and left a note informing Nephrite that unless he gives up the dark crystal, he will bring harm to her. Despite denying it, he soon realized he was in love with Naru and came to the location where the sisters awaited him. He noticed Naru was tied up to a wall. When he infomed the three to tell Zoicite that he won't give up the crystal, the Plant sisters attacked him in retaliation. He easily fends them off and escapes with Naru. While talking, she notices Nephrite's injury to his left arm and rips parts of her pajamas to bandage his arm. However this was short lived, the Plant sisters found them and attacked again. One of the sisters, Grape, stabs Nephrite with thorns and when Naru attempted to pull them out, none of the sisters paid her any mind thinking a normal human can't pull them out. The sisters were taken by surprise when they saw her pulling them out slowly and was succeeding. The three blasted Naru, but Nephrite protected her by covering his body over hers. Zoicite gloated over defeating him, claiming the dark crystal as his own and left. The Plant sisters intended to finish Nephrite off until Sailor Moon arrived with Sailors Mercury and Mars. Despite Moon and Mars effort in destroying the sisters, they were unable to save him in time. Before dying Nephrite promises Sailor Moon that her secret is safe. On his last breath, he apologizes to Naru for putting her in so much danger and tells her that he loves her, regretting that he won't get to enjoy chocolate parfait with her. Nephrite fades into dust and dies, leaving the bandage. Naru cried out in grief and the senshi shead tears in sympathy.
30th Century Crystal Tokyo(NSG timeline): Remaining in his precious stone form, Nephrite like the others were kept inside Endymion's pocket and close to his heart. With Purity's light, he and the other Shittenou were reborn. Having not remembered his service to Beryl, Nephrite was able to continue living the life he had in the past. He found his way back to Makoto again, but this time he would have to work harder to regain her love. Once he did, they married and had Shinta Kino/Galactic Jupiter/Princess Kumiko
